NeXGen^® Capture (XPLSI)

Carreker's NeXGen Capture provides Windows™ based functions that allow NCR 7780 and iTran 8000 sorters to operate in an IBM Check Processing Control System (CPCS) environment as if they were IBM 3890 Document Processors. NeXGen Capture is a fully functional replacement for Carreker's popular XP Low Speed Interface (XPLSI) product.

Many check processing installations have found it advantageous to operate a mixture of IBM 3890/XP Document Processors for high-speed capture applications along with NCR 7780 and iTran 8000 sorters for lower speed and remote applications. NeXGen Capture allows these units to operate within a single check/image-processing environment utilizing the industry standard IBM Check Processing Control System (CPCS) and Carreker High Performance Transaction System (HPTS).

By implementing NeXGen Capture, a bank can optimize the use of various industry technologies depending on unique application factors, volume requirements and vendor preferences. Additionally, NeXGen Capture provides a cost effective, low volume and/or offsite backup for IBM 3890 devices.

OPERATION

Using NeXGen Capture, the CPCS/HPTS system thinks that the NCR 7780 and iTran 8000 sorters are IBM 3890/XPs. The program provides a 3890/XP compatible interface for an NCR Item Processing Workstation (IPW) into CPCS/HPTS. This allows the NCR 7780 and iTran 8000 to be used for Prime Pass capture (MICR and OCR), Subsequent Pass, and Power Encode functions (including Full-Field encoding) through the NeXGen XP Control Program (XPCP). NeXGen Capture operates with the optional NeXGen Image Camera Attachment Program (ICAP) to provide image capture capability for the NCR sorters.

NeXGen Capture supports most existing Stacker Control Instruction (SCI) programs and XP native language programs that operate on the IBM 3890/XPs. The program supports such standard NCR features as MICR and OCR read, endorse (front and rear), microfilm, encode, and pocket selection.

WINDOWS® BASED

The NeXGen Capture product is a follow-on enhanced version of Carreker's XPLSI product. A primary benefit of NeXGen Capture is the support of all existing XPLSI functions on a Windows®, rather than IBM OS/2 platform. This change enables NeXGen Capture to run entirely on the NCR Controller PC rather than requiring an additional OS/2 based PC for the NeXGen XPCP component and helps eliminate the requirement for OS/2 trained support staff.

• NeXGen Capture Base contains the functions that existed in the previous XPIP, and XPUP components of XPLSI.
  
• NeXGen iTran Feature (optionally available for an additional charge).
  
• NeXGen ICAP Feature provides image capture.
  
• NeXGen XPCP Feature provides 3890/XP Control Program emulation.
  
• NeXGen XPPE Feature provides automated power encoding of amounts from BTM or other remote capture systems.
  
• NeXGen XPUP Feature provides hold and view capability used in reject repair applications.
  
• MicrSuite-CaptureCorrect™ (MSCC) Pre-Req Marketing Bundle includes NeXGen Capture, NeXGen ICAP, NeXGen XPUP and Toolkit.
  

NEW FUNCTIONALITY

• In addition to eliminating the need for OS/2, NeXGen Capture also eliminates the need for LU6.2 (SNA) and replaces it with TCP/IP communications.
  
• NeXGen XPCP Feature supports 32-bit SPXServ functions that were introduced with the IBM 3890 model XPE.
  
• NeXGen Capture supports standalone non-CPCS processing. It is bundled within Carreker's NeXGen Remittance application and is a planned component of our new Source Capture application.
  
• NeXGen XPCP introduces Subpass Reject Repair functionality that requires MSCC as a pre-requisite.

EXISTING XPLSI CUSTOMERS

Customers who are currently licensed users of any of the XPLSI V1R1 or V1R2 products (XPCP, XPIP, XPPE, ICAP, or the 7780 MicrSuite-CaptureCorrectx Pre-Req Marketing Bundle) and who are currently on paid-up maintenance support may upgrade to the corresponding NeXGen Capture V2R1 product at no additional cost.
