XP/STAT Image
Quality Statistics
The XP/STAT Image Quality Statistics
feature is an additional statistical
collection and reporting module for
the XP/STAT product. This optional
feature allows the collection and
reporting of Image Suspect Statistics
for the IBM 3897 Mod 4 Image Camera
when equipped with the IBM supplied
3890/XP Image Suspect RPQ.
The XP/STAT Image Quality Statistics
feature collects a wide array of
statistics from the IBM 3897 Mod
4 Image Camera attached to the IBM
3890/XP Series of Document Processors.
These statistics relate to images
that are suspected of having some
type of quality problem.
The Image Quality Statistics Feature
is pre-packaged with XP/STAT and
activated upon licensing. The existing
connectivity and database functions
contained in XP/STAT are enhanced
to process the additional statistics
provided by the IBM 3897 Mod 4 Image
Camera. There are no physical or
communication connections required
from XP/STAT to the IBM 3897 Mod
4 Image Camera. Communication to
the camera is via an IBM 3890/XP
RPQ provided API.
The Image Quality Statistics Feature,
in conjunction with XP/STAT, provides
the ability to track and report historical
statistics. Carreker's optional XP/Vision
product allows the viewing of image
suspect statistics on a "real-time"
basis to enable the sorter operator
and sorter supervisor/manager to
effectively monitor the quality of
the images being captured. In this
manner, problems with the IBM 3897
Image Camera or the 3890/XP can be
detected immediately and corrective
action taken to resolve issues with
the quality of the images being captured.
A no-charge maintenance update to
Carreker's XP/Vision product enables
the viewing of the image statistics.
REPORTING
The statistics captured by XP/STAT
and the XP/STAT Image Quality Statistics
Feature are uploaded to Carreker's
XP/BenchMark website. This service,
which is available to all XP/STAT
customers, provides access to a wide
variety of statistical data by any
authorized person. XP/BenchMark is
currently provided to customers on
a fee-waived basis.
COMPLEMENTARY PRODUCTS
XP/STAT is Carreker's PC-based operator
logging and statistics collection
program that executes from the PC
on the IBM 3890/XP Series of Document
Processors, along with the NCR 7780
and BancTec sorters under XP emulation,
allowing users to gather detailed
statistical information about each
item as it passes through the sorter,
both on-line and off-line.
XP/Vision is Carreker's real-time
monitoring facility for the presentation
of data gathered by Carreker's XP/STAT
product. XP/Vision graphically displays,
in a separate window, the "current
health" indicators for each document
processor.
XP/BenchMark is a Carreker service
providing Internet access to a customer's
sorter and operator statistical data
through the XP/BenchMark website.
Statistics are collected, automatically
transmitted to the Carreker BenchMark
Server, processed and displayed in
graphic formats where they can be
compared real time to industry-wide
statistics.
PREREQUISITES
- XP/STAT must be licensed on all
IBM3890/XP sorters with IBM 3897
Mod 4 Image Cameras attached.
- Customers must purchase from
IBM the Image Suspect RPQ (DLL)
that enables an API to retrieve
the statistics from the IBM 3897
Mod 4 Image Cameras.
- The XP sorters must be running
the IBM XP Control Program.
- To utilize the optional XP/Vision
real time monitoring product,
the sorters must be LAN connected
to a file server to provide a common
data repository for the collected
statistics for all XP sorters
at each customer site.
